Kicking-off our 1st AimHireInAction event of 2017 was a project that we had not done before, and we are glad we did! We
started our morning bright and early at South Platte Park, which is nestled around the South Platte River and houses several small lakes and many unique animal species. Our guide David was wonderful and educated our team on an important role we can play to help our environment.
Our native plants are threatened by the presence of invasive species around the park; when native plants do not thrive, neither does our natural ecosystem!
Together we hiked into the open space and did some serious non-native plant control to help maintain our healthy wildlife communities. We hand-pulled and trimmed the culprits; scotch thistle, bull thistle, and spotted knapweeds. It was a beautiful day, well spent working together to promote the health of our parks!
