For most people, the third day of work would typically entail an overview of the employee handbook, company policies and procedures, and a wealth of information than one would know how to digest; that surely was not the case for me...
I started my day working and before I knew it, 11am had hit and the AimHire team busted out in their Rockies attire and cheered their way out of the office. I was blown away by the reviving culture at play here. Feelings of nervousness and excitement rushed through my head. I didn’t know what to expect with my first work-outing. Need I remind you this was my third day at the job.
The team from both offices gathered right in the heart of LoDo at Denver ChopHouse & Brewery. It was an action-packed private room filled with nothing but an appetite for life. I was in the moment of great company and having a great time getting to know everyone that I forgot we had ordered food! My burger was delicious and the atmosphere couldn’t have been more engaging.
After lunch, we headed next door to Coors Field to watch the Rockies vs. Texas Rangers. AimHire provided us with tickets and vouchers to spend on anything at the stadium- right on! The tickets took us to the Rooftop patio amid the exhilarating crowd of Colorado (and sparse Rangers) fans whose energy bolstered the enjoyment we were all feeling.
The day ensued with an indulgence of laughs and close-knit conversations. The get together was not so much a group of co-workers hanging out as it was a family reunion. The nerves I had been feeling before embarking on this day out with new teammates were alleviated by the profound welcoming of everyone. During my first couple days working, it was clear that there is a work-hard attitude deeply rooted in the culture and after Wednesday, I was quick to learn that the “play-hard” philosophy is no exception. I’ve had a great start at AimHire and am thrilled to join a team of fun personalities who seem to have mastered the unwinnable work-life balance.
