You may have noticed that our blog is full of announcements for new staff members and promotions. This week is no exception! We are very excited to announce that Jennifer Fowler, who joined the AimHire team this past June, will soon be transitioning into her new role as our Human Resources Specialist!
Jen has done an incredible job as our Staffing Coordinator for the DTC office for the past several months. Now, she will be supporting Amanda Cline, our Payroll Specialist, in a variety of responsibilities, including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, benefits, and IT. We are so excited to watch Jen continue to grow with our company, and we can’t wait to see what 2015 holds for AimHire!

For AimHire, placing a candidate in a great position is just the beginning. One of our greatest priorities is taking care of all of our employees, whether they’re here in the office or working for a client, and we take pride in the support we provide and the benefits package we’re able to offer. This month, we are excited to announce that we now offer health insurance through United Healthcare to all contract and contract-to hire employees who have worked for us for 60 days or longer! This health plan is the same that we offer to our internal staff, and we cover 50% of each employee’s monthly premium. This benefit will be a great complement to the programs we already have in place, including 401(k) matching, PTO days, and our RTD discount.
We want all of our employees to thrive both in and out of the office, and our new benefits package is just another of many reasons to choose AimHire. If you are a company seeking employees, you can be confident that we will provide excellent support to your contract employees. If you are a job seeker, you can know that the opportunities we provide are great ones!

It’s been two and a half years since I graduated college. In that time, I’ve gotten the chance to work in recruitment and see the talent acquisition process from the inside. I have learned a few things that I wish I had known when I was a fresh graduate and job seeker, so I thought I would pass them on to you:
1. It’s not always personal.
Every time I’ve been turned down for a job or didn’t receive a call back on an application, my instant thought was, “What did I do wrong?” I took it to heart, and it would injure my confidence for my next application. After too many rejections in a row, I’d be nearly convinced that I had nothing to offer.
As a recruiter, there were many times when I spoke to fantastic candidates who for one reason or another weren’t the best match for the job. Maybe it was a mismatch of locations or salary expectations. Maybe the job title shifted and the experience the department needed jumped from two years to five. Maybe budget cuts meant we stopped hiring for the position altogether, or we interviewed another candidate who had a specific skillset we needed. Whatever the reason, there were many times when a “no” had nothing to do with any mistakes or shortcomings on the candidate’s part.

Before I started working with AimHire, I was completely unfamiliar with recruitment firms, or staffing agencies as they’re often called. I didn’t know how they worked or what to expect. If you’re like me, read on.
We work with over one hundred of the top companies in the Denver area. Some are growing rapidly; others are more stable. Some are small; others are global. Each company has a unique structure and set of recruitment needs, but all of them have called on AimHire to help them meet those needs. We always have a running list of open positions, and we recruit based on those positions.

Cathy Ng, one of our superstar staffing managers here at AimHire, is about to have her third baby boy! Yesterday, we got the chance to celebrate with her by surprising her with a baby shower. It was wonderful to have the whole team together, including our newest staff members. We laughed over Qdoba tacos and buried Cathy in a pile of Target gift cards before heading back to our desks to get some more work done before the holiday weekend. We are so excited for Cathy and her family and can’t wait to meet the little one in early August.
While we were all together, we took the opportunity to get some professional photos taken for our website. Stay tuned!
Happy Independence Day to all of you from the AimHire team!
