Calling All College Graduates

Graduation

We learn at a young age that if we work hard in school to earn good grades, we will be rewarded. In college, educators and advisors set a similar precedent. This optimism is not a bad thing, but can be misleading. The reality is that no college degree nor high GPA will guarantee you a job right out of school. And if you do not have corporate experience right out of school, but want to gain corporate experience, what can you do?

What to Expect in 2016

It has been a memorable 2015 for AimHire. Some big highlights: We launched a new RPO division, expanded our team, made the Denver Business Journal list of fastest growing private companies, and welcomed new partnerships with some of Denver’s finest companies. Our next move? To head in a direction of continuous growth and make this year even better than the last!

To start- Jessie Boyle has moved into a new role as Manager, Client and Recruitment in the Denver Tech Center branch! Jessie first joined AimHire as a Project Manager in the RPO division. In addition to her RPO experience, Jessie’s unwavering commitment to understanding client needs and exceeding their expectations is a welcome asset to our services.

We are also excited for greater collaboration with our community. As a local company, we value the lasting impact that comes from making a difference in our community. Our goal is to get involved and support organizations that work hard to impact social change, economic development, and safety in the Denver Metro area. Throughout the year, AimHire will be heading up volunteer projects devoted to those local causes.

As we reflect on the achievements of 2015, we are entering the New Year with ambition that will fuel further achievements in 2016!

Be well and don’t forget to…

be well

Happy New Year!

Spreading the Holiday Joy

Holiday 2015 sized

The AimHire team does not like to miss out on a moment of good holiday cheer. This year we mixed and a-mingled in a jingling beat at our 2nd Annual Gift Exchange! There was no singing but plenty of gifts and jolly laughs to permeate the office. The most repeatedly stolen finds were Moscow Mule mugs, out of this world cozy throw blankets and of course, Broncos merchandise!

We enjoy spreading the holiday tradition of giving not just in within our office but also to our community. In lieu of gifts, we have donated to The Harambee Foundation and The Williams R. Meyn Foundation. Our hope is to continue contributing to education and research so others can experience life’s precious opportunities.

With everlasting joy, Happy Holidays to all!

AimHire

Conquering Your Guilty Couch Potato

2012 10 10 1314

We all have things that are important to us outside of work, but as the winter days shorten, the green diminishes, and the night turns cold our motivation to partake in hobbies or complete to-do lists weakens. I know I should exercise when I get home, but watching Netflix on the couch sounds much better than working out after a long day, right? Well, we might be wrong. Research has found that for some, engaging in television as a way to decompress actually produces feelings of guilt and failure rather than the intended feelings of enjoyment. Dr. Leonard Reinecke of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz refers to this as ‘ego-depletion’ or ‘feelings of reduced self-control, a concept with which we all battle on a daily basis.

So, how do we combat this temptation? Everyone has different ways to find enjoyment, but here are some tips to keeping the productivity alive and battle the feelings of self-guilt, procrastination, and failure post-work.

4th Fastest-Growing Private Company of 2015

denverbusinessjournal

Today, AimHire was recognized by The Denver Business Journal as the 4th Fastest-Growing Privately Held Company of 2015!  The list is comprised of companies that have had significant revenue growth over a three year period. The Top 10 companies in each category were presented at a wonderful luncheon at the Hyatt Regency. This is a tremendous achievement for us and we want to thank all of our amazing employees and clients who have helped get us to this level!  It would not be possible without the continued partnership of our clients and hard-working employees.

With much gratitude, thank you all for making our year a success

AimHire for Your Dreams

Like many recent college graduates, Katie Zwettler was on a moving search to find her place in this world.

Having worked in the retail industry for a bit, Katie wanted a different opportunity but was not exactly sure where to start. She applied and interviewed with Haley at AimHire through which she accepted a position with our Right Hire Team, a division of top candidates. During her time there, Katie was exposed to several different companies working on special projects. While going into different corporate cultures can be exceedingly nerve-wracking, Katie felt very comfortable as her recruiters helped prepare her for each assignment. She had all the information prior to each assignment and adds that the clients were open and personable to her introduction. These client interactions soon landed Katie as a permanent employee where she established some incredible relationships with colleagues. Much to her surprise, these relationships would eventually help during a pivotal turn in her life eight months later.

Katie graduated with a degree in Anthropology so delving into cultures and learning about the rest of the world was always important to her. This personal ambition to travel, however, was not compatible with a career in the states and she knew this needed to be communicated to the team. “Everyone was open and understanding.” But they were more than just understanding. Her colleagues offered to reach out to the supervisor at the international branch in Australia… Australia! The HR department, too, wanted to help prepare her for the transition. This outpouring of support was, to say the least, a welcome surprise in the corporate world. To have a professional foundation that advocated for traveling was unmatched by any other.

So off she went, backpacking for one year to Australia then to Fiji where Katie relished in her adventures of self-discovery and cultural phenomena. During her travels, Katie stayed in contact with AimHire and the rest of her networks. Upon her return to CO, AimHire invited Katie back to work, but this time for an internal position. Since accepting the job, Katie has done an exceptional job on our project team and she feels a great deal of her growth has been facilitated by AimHire.

From the moment that I walked in, I remember feeling at ease; Haley made the interview seem like an everyday conversation about what I wanted for my future and how AimHire could help me attain that dream. One day at a time from the beginning to where I am now, AimHire has been there every step of the way and has prepared me for every obstacle. Since my network is a range of different people with varying skills, AimHire had a fit for everyone I knew. They made it possible for everyone to be open and honest about their future goals and how AimHire could be a helping hand to get them there. Recommending AimHire was not a question of why would I, but rather why wouldn’t I.

Katie will be embarking on her next journey, this time to Southeast Asia and New Zealand for two years! In the meantime, she is channeling her passion for working with people as a Jr. Recruiter.

The Power of Asking

 asking

The act of asking is an essential tool to everyday life. One cannot get what one wishes without asking, learning is limited without asking, and most importantly, asking can help you even in the most vulnerable of work situations.
